When BERNINA launched the 990, they didn’t just unveil a machine… they unveiled a dream. And stitched right into that dream was a breathtaking quilt called Twilight Garden.
If you’ve seen any of BERNINA’s ads or videos for the 990, chances are you’ve seen this quilt — it’s front and center in nearly all their marketing. As soon as it was released, people started asking about it. “What is that quilt?” “Can I make it with my new machine?” “Will you be offering a class?”
The answer was yes.
At first, our plan was to teach Twilight Garden just like BERNINA envisioned — as a year-long quilt class. And while the quilt is absolutely stunning, we quickly realized… it’s a lot. It’s large. It’s detailed. It requires a significant fabric investment. And not everyone is looking to dive into another big quilt.
So, we took a step back and asked ourselves:
What if we took all the amazing techniques in the Twilight Garden quilt — and turned them into fun, useful projects instead?
Same skills. Same learning. More flexibility. More fun.
And that’s how this Stitch Lab Pro edition was born.

It’s a monthly, project-based class designed specifically for 790 PRO and 990 owners. We’ll teach you everything the Twilight Garden quilt was created to highlight — from stitch designer magic and decorative combinations to couching, pintucks, sideways motion, and beyond.
But instead of only working toward a quilt, you’ll be making beautiful, practical projects each month. Things you’ll use. Things you’ll gift. Things that let your BERNINA shine like this fun zippered project pouch.
