Jackie is our go-to bag maker—the one who knows how to turn fabric, zippers, and hardware into something both beautiful and brilliantly functional. Her sewing journey restarted during Covid on a trusty little Brother machine she originally bought back in 1985. What began as a creative return quickly turned into a full-on passion.
She started by learning quilt-as-you-go techniques, then took a deep dive into bag making after purchasing her first BERNINA in 2022—a 770 QE PLUS with the embroidery module. From there, Jackie fell hard for ByAnnie patterns, mastering their construction and organization details before branching out into purses, wallets, and more advanced designs.
Jackie loves experimenting with new patterns, textures, and materials, and that curiosity led her to another favorite tool—the bernette b08, which she added to her studio in 2024 and now swears by for bag construction.
What makes Jackie’s classes special?
She’s practical, detail-oriented, and generous with her knowledge. Jackie doesn’t just show you what to do—she explains the why behind each step, sharing the tips, tricks, and shortcuts she’s learned through experience. Her classes are welcoming, confidence-boosting, and designed to help you walk away with a bag you’ll actually use (and proudly show off).
If you’ve ever wanted to tackle bag making but felt intimidated by zippers, structure, or hardware—Jackie is exactly who you want guiding you through it.
