If you’ve ever seen one of Julie’s quilts, you know she’s not here for “simple.” She’s here for spectacular. A wife, mom of three, and Grammy to five, Julie dove into quilting in 2016 after spotting a gorgeous quilt on Instagram and thinking, “I want to make that.” That moment turned into a full-blown creative adventure.
Within a month she bought her first sewing machine, jumped straight into Foundation Paper Piecing, and never looked back. Her heart was instantly stolen by Quiltworx patterns, and she went all-in—traveling to Kalispell, Montana to learn directly from Judy Niemeyer and continuing advanced training with Certified Instructors both in person and via Zoom.
After moving to Lake Charles in 2019, Julie’s passion only grew. She eventually upgraded to BERNINA in 2022 (and now proudly owns three Pro machines!), bringing that next-level stitch quality into every project and every class she teaches.
What makes Julie’s classes special?
She has a gift for breaking down intimidating designs into approachable, confidence-building steps. Her intro classes go far beyond “basic”—students walk away creating pieces that look wonderfully complex but were built with calm guidance and clear methods. Julie is endlessly patient, incredibly prepared, and genuinely believes every student can create something they’re proud to show off.
At the end of the day, Julie just loves to sew beautiful things—and she can’t wait to help you discover that same joy in your own masterpieces.
